Weekend Notes

The weekend is once again upon us. Some observations from Big-D.

• The Mavs are one win away from their first trip to the NBA Finals. That's big news around here, especially for life-long, long-suffering fans like me. We faithfully stood by when the Mavs won 24 games over a 2 year period. It's about time for a championship.

• We had a beautiful spring, average of 70 degrees for many weeks. Summer is now here, and we're mostly in the 90's every day. It's gonna get hotter.

• I'm going bowling tonight with my church group. I haven't bowled in a long time, and for good reason. It's always fun though, except it would be a lot moreso with some beer. But did I mention it's with my church? In college, my bowling form inspired the nickname "Skippy". You have to see it to believe it.

• If you haven't heard of KT Tunstall, I highly recommend looking her music up. Her big hit is "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree", but it's actually the weakest of her album, IMHO. It was immortalized by Katherine MacPhee performing it entirely from her knees on American Idol. Great music and a great debut album if you're looking for something new.

Enjoy your weekend!
